Andrés Medina (Ciudad de México, 1938), es profesor investigador titular del Instituto de Investigaciones Antropológicas de la UNAM. Es autor de más de media docena de libros y de varias decenas de artículos científicos. Una preocupación permanente a lo largo de su trayectoria ha sido precisamente la comunidad y sus variaciones, así como sus fundamentos en el parentesco y en la cosmovisión mesoamericana. En esta entrevista nos narra, desde sus pasos iniciales por la práctica antropológica, su preocupación por la particularidad del pensamiento antropológico mexicano y sus preocupaciones y disquisiciones contemporáneas en torno a las comunidades y pueblos originarios del valle de México.
