Las canciones de Manuela Luisa Verna

En este trabajo se recupera la breve obra poética y la figura de Manuela Luisa Verna (1850-1887), un caso singular de las letras mexicanas del último tercio del siglo XIX. Se ha realizado el rastreo genealógico, la compilación de sus poemas y el apunte crítico de algunos aspectos de su poética. Se han reunido sus escasas piezas, incluidas en el “Apéndice”, y se ha hecho el rastreo bibliohemerográfico de sus fuentes conocidas. Se trata de una autora de canciones cuyas filiaciones estéticas indagaron en la estilística petrarquista y en donde se pueden advertir rasgos y temas explorados por Henrich Heine, Victor Hugo y Gustavo Adolfo Bécquer.
