¿Existe más apoyo a la progresividad impositiva en sociedades más desiguales? Perfiles distributivos, impuestos y preferencias políticas en 15 países latinoamericanos

¿Qué relación existe entre la desigualdad de ingresos económicos, las intervenciones redistributivas del Estado y las preferencias políticas de las ciudadanías? El presente trabajo tiene como objetivo explorar y proponer una clasificación de perfiles distributivos y preferencias redistributivas a nivel de países en América Latina, combinando datos recientes de los sistemas estadísticos nacionales y de relevamientos de opinión internacionales.
El principal hallazgo de este estudio es la identificación de tendencias contrarias al ordenamiento típico de la paradoja de Robin Hood: países con perfiles distributivos más igualitarios mostrarían una menor presión para que su ciudadanía apoye políticas de reducción de la desigualdad; países con perfiles distributivos desiguales ejercerían una mayor fuerza para que su ciudadanía apoye políticas de reducción de la desigualdad.
