Submission Preparation Checklist

As part of the submission process, authors are required to check off their submission's compliance with all of the following items, and submissions may be returned to authors that do not adhere to these guidelines.

  • The articles and essays sent to Andamios, Revista de Investigación Social, must be high quality academic research in the Social Sciences and Humanities.

  • The contributions must be original and comply with the editorial rules to be undergone blind peer review.

  • Submission of a manuscript implies commitment to publish in the Journal. Manuscripts should not be under consideration by any other publishers while being reviewed by Andamios, Revista de Investigación Social or have been published elsewhere in substantially similar form or with substantially similar content.

  • The sending of any collaboration to the Journal implies the acceptance of what is established in these editorial rules and the authorization to the Editorial Committee to disseminate the papers in the printed version of Andamios, its website, in reprints, collections and any database or electronic indexing system to achieve greater and better diffusion of the work.
  • Articles should conform to the APA style sheet.
  • Contributions for the "Dossier" and "Articles" sections must have a minimum of 15 pages and a maximum of 28  (including notes, graphs, tables, citations and bibliography); and the "Reviews" should not exceed five pages.
  • It is recommended that the title does not exceed 70 characters, including spaces.
  • Contributions, except for a review, must attach: a) an abstract in English and Spanish that does not exceed 120 words and which highlights the main contributions and conclusions of the article; and b) a list of five key words in Spanish and English that identify the content of the text.
  • Reviews should be from current academic books (published at most two previous immediate years) or from new editions of classics that are worth reviewing in light of current problems.

Dossier

Monographic section dedicated to a specific theme in each issue, for which a call is published and corresponding to a certain number.

Interview

Interview with renowned specialists on relevant topics in the Humanities and Social Sciences. The interview may to be: a) With a specialist on an issue of interest to the Humanities and Social Sciences; and b) Confrontation of two specialists interviewed jointly (if possible, otherwise one could work with the same questionnaire and interview them independently) on the same subject, which is preferably sought to link it to the dossier.

Articles

Works of theoretical or applied nature that contribute to spread the themes, problems and discussions in any area of the Humanities and Social Sciences. This section is permanently open, but if the article is considered publishable then will be listed among those that have been considered in the same way previously. The number in which the text will appear will be indicated in due time.

Reviews

Review of some significant bibliographical novelty for the world of the Humanities and Social Sciences, whether national or foreign. Only book reviews that have been published with a maximum of two years prior to the submission of proposal.

Colaboraciones

Lineamientos editoriales

 

  • Sólo se dictaminarán los trabajos que cumplan cabalmente las normas de recepción de originales, políticas generales y lineamientos editoriales, especificados en Revista de Investigación Social.

 

  • Las contribuciones, rigurosamente inéditas, se presentarán con letra Arial de 12 puntos, con interlineado doble y páginas numeradas, con márgenes superior e inferior de 2.5 cm, e izquierdo y derecho de 3 cm.

 

  • Las contribuciones para las secciones Dossier y Artículos deberán tener como mínimo 5,000 palabras y como máximo 10,000, incluyendo notas, gráficas, tablas, citas y bibliografía; las correspondientes a Reseñas no podrán superar las 3,000 palabras.

 

  • Se recomienda que el título de los trabajos no exceda de 70 caracteres, incluyendo espacios.

 

  • Las contribuciones, salvo las reseñas, deberán anexar: a) un resumen en español y otro en inglés, que no supere, cada uno, las 120 palabras, y que destaque las principales aportaciones y conclusiones del artículo, así como la originalidad y el valor (aportación y relevancia) del mismo; y b) cinco palabras clave, en español e inglés, que identifiquen el contenido del texto.

 

  • Cada párrafo, a partir del 2º, comenzará con sangría.

 

  • El aparato crítico se presentará de acuerdo con el formato utilizado por la American Psychological Association (APA). Entre otros sitios, puede consultarse en la dirección electrónica siguiente: http://normasapa.net/2017-edicion-6/

 

  • Si el artículo contiene citas textuales de menos de cinco líneas, éstas irán en el cuerpo del texto, entre comillas. Si la extensión es mayor, se escribirán en párrafo aparte, con sangría en todo el párrafo, sin comillas, en el mismo tamaño de letra (Arial de 12 puntos) y con interlineado sencillo. Cuando la cita contenga agregados y omisiones del autor, se indicarán entre corchetes.

 

  • Para las obras a las que se haga referencia dentro del cuerpo del texto se usará el sistema autor-año, con las páginas citadas cuando sea el caso. Entre paréntesis se incluirá el apellido del autor [coma] el año en que se publicó la obra [coma] p. y páginas citadas. Ejemplo:

 

Con respecto a la relación entre el azar y el conocimiento, “la cantidad de azar presente en el universo, o la cantidad de él que interviene en los procesos naturales, no tiene más límite que el de avance del conocimiento” (Wagensberg, 1985, p. 22).

 

  • Cuando se haga referencia en términos generales a una obra particular de un autor, se indicará entre paréntesis el año de publicación de la misma. Cuando varias obras del mismo autor se hayan publicado el mismo año, se distinguirán añadiendo una letra al año. Ejemplo:

 

La teoría de la acción de Parsons (1974a) parte de la consideración del acto unidad. Parsons (1974b) considera que el sistema social tiene como función primaria la integración.

 

  • La autora o autor del artículo deberá asegurarse de que las citas incluidas en el texto coincidan con todos los datos aportados en la bibliografía.

 

  • Todos los títulos de libros, revistas y periódicos se anotarán en cursivas.

 

  • Las notas explicativas se situarán a pie de página, a espacio sencillo, con letra Arial de 12 puntos.

 

  • Al final del texto figurará el listado de todas las fuentes empleadas (en orden alfabético), con los siguientes formatos y con sangría francesa:

  • En caso de que la referencia cuente con DOI será imprescindible que éste se anote.

 

  • Se recomienda evitar el uso de palabras en idioma distinto al español, así como de neologismos innecesarios. Si es inevitable emplear un término en lengua extranjera (por no existir una traducción apropiada), se anotará con cursiva y se incluirá, entre paréntesis o como nota de pie de página, su traducción al español o una breve explicación del término. Si se empleara un neologismo también deberá anotarse con letra cursiva.

 

  • En caso de que el artículo tenga citas en un idioma distinto al español, se traducirán a esta lengua.

 

  • La primera vez que se utilicen siglas o acrónimos se escribirán entre paréntesis e irán antecedidos por el nombre completo de la institución que denominan.
