Volver a Halbwachs: Dos aportes al concepto sociológico de memoria colectiva desde los estudios de la memoria

El término de memoria colectiva fue acuñado por Maurice Halbwachs hace un siglo en el marco de la sociología de la memoria, aunque es en el ámbito de los estudios de la memoria donde la noción adquirió el reconocimiento y la relevancia que no obtuvo en su disciplina de origen. Frente a la demanda, por parte de algunas voces de la sociología actual, de recuperar las bases sociológicas del término y preservar así su pureza conceptual, sostenemos que han sido precisamente las traiciones y desviaciones de su sentido original las que le han conferido la plasticidad necesaria para abordar productivamente las discusiones contemporáneas. Para demostrar nuestra hipótesis, presentamos dos relevantes aportes al concepto que, modificando su sentido original, permitieron actualizarlo desde los estudios de la memoria. Como resultado, concluimos que la recuperación sociológica del término completa pero no agota sus posibilidades.
