Los límites de la automatización

En los últimos años, se ha intensificado el debate sobre la automatización de la producción, que entre sus numerosas aristas contiene una poco abordada, que es de índole fundamentalmente normativa. En discusión con una serie de planteamientos actuales que abogan por una automatización plena de la producción para dar lugar a una sociedad poscapitalista, el objetivo de este artículo es pensar críticamente los límites ético-políticos de la automatización. Por un lado, si bien la automatización es un medio para lograr mayor tiempo libre y abundancia material, estos fines no son absolutos y pueden entrar en contradicción con otros objetivos igualmente deseables. Por otro lado, la automatización actual sigue un patrón que estaría atentando contra ciertas capacidades humanas cuyo desarrollo resulta imprescindible para una política emancipatoria.
