Este artículo se propone, en primer lugar, reconstruir algunos itinerarios teóricos de la incorporación del género en los procesos de planificación urbana, documentando la diversidad de experiencias vividas por las mujeres como colectivo en la ciudad. En segundo lugar, examina las principales demandas mediante las cuales las mujeres como colectivo han reivindicado el “derecho a la ciudad”. Finalmente, establece los principales desafíos políticos, urbanos y culturales para la construcción de ciudades más democráticas e inclusivas.
