‘Sala Negra’, periodismo narrativo e investigación para desentrañar la violencia en Centroamérica

Creada en 2010 como una sección del periódico digital salvadoreño El Faro, Sala Negra se ha consolidado como una plataforma fundamental para desentrañar las claves de la violencia en Centroamérica. A partir de una metodología cualitativa, este artículo analiza una docena de textos de largo aliento sobre pandillas, tráfico de seres humanos, cárceles o abusos de las fuerzas de seguridad. Los resultados muestran que, frente a las opciones objetivistas de la prensa anglosajona, las técnicas del periodismo narrativo contribuyen a enriquecer un relato fundamentado en investigaciones en profundidad, en la línea explorada por los primeros muckakers.
