Abstract

El presente artículo brinda una visión de la amenaza percibida y el prejuicio que los habitantes de la zona metropolitana del valle de México expresan con relación a la migración centroamericana indocumentada en tránsito por México. Para tal fin se desarrolló e implemento un instrumento derivado de la Teoría del prejuicio sutil y manifiesto (Pettigrew y Meertens, 1995) y la Teoría de la amenaza integrada (Stephan y Stephan, 2000). Los resultados apoyan a que existen diferencias según el nivel educativo, la ocupación de los participantes, y la calidad de contacto con los migrantes. Se concluye que los habitantes de la ZMVM presentan bajos niveles de prejuicio y percepción de amenaza en general.
