Abstract

The objective of this article is to analyze how women who search for their disappeared carry out practices to remember their relatives in the state of Guanajuato. The construction of the concept “windows of memory” is used to account for how women, through different objects, compulsively and repetitively remember their disappeared relatives, without carrying out a process of re-elaboration/resignification of the disappearance of their relative, remaining in a state of liminality. The research is based on the ethnography that I carried out throughout the generalized searches organized by the State Search Commission of the State of Guanajuato.
